Cynthia Barbara Walker was born on Saturday, November 14, 1942 to Stacey, Sr. and Esther (Johnson) Prince, in Washington DC. She was a graduate of Cardoza Senior High School and later lived in Upper Marlboro, Maryland.
In 1962, Cynthia married Edward Walker and they soon after began a family. Cynthia was employed as a clerk with Gant Food Store where her beautiful smile, kind nature and pleasant demeanor created a positive shopping experience for customers. Cynthia’s commitment to her faith led her to earn a degree in Christian Discipleship in 1993 from Jericho Training College. After many years of employment, Cynthia retired and relocated to Palm Coast, Florida with her husband. They united with Mt. Calvary Baptist Church and Cynthia served with the Voices of Calvary.
Throughout her life, Cynthia was referred to as a songbird having been blessed with a beautiful singing voice. She had an eye for interior decorating and a flair for fashion. Cynthia also loved to travel. Her fun loving spirit was often evident when she played Dominoes and Phase 10 with her family and friends.
In addition to her parents, Cynthia was preceded in eternal rest by her sisters and a brother , Theresa Jones Prince, Shirley Brandon and Stacey Y. Prince, Jr.
Cynthia entered the sunset of life on Saturday, January 24, 2026 at AdventHealth Daytona Beach.
Cherished memories of Cynthia remain with her husband of 64 years, Edward Lewis Walker; daughters, Monica (Mark) Freeman of Upper Marlboro, MD and Valencia Smith of Palm Coast; son, Kevin Walker of Washington, DC; grandchildren, Dana, Yvonne, Katrina, William, Mark, Danielle and Dawn; great grandchildren, Khalil, Isaiah, Raegan, Carter and Nassir; brother, Mondell (Joyce) Prince and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
