Obituary

Yun-Ja Kim Hampton, 82, of Hinesville, GA, entered the sunset of life on Monday, September 6, 2021 at her residence. On February 1, 1939 Yun-Ja Kim Hampton was born to Pak Su Bong and Chi Cha Sun. The oldest of six children, she was raised in her native country town of Pusan, Korea. Kim attended and graduated from the City of Pusan public school system, and worked in her father's butcher shop as a young girl.

She met and married George McGuire, a soldier from East Hampton, New York stationed in Pusan. Together they became the parents of one son, Daniel McGuire. Both George and Danny McGuire preceded her in eternal rest. She later moved to Ayer, Massachusetts where she worked as a sewing machine operator at Murray's Printing Company until 1972. She then met and was united in matrimony to Command Sergeant Major John Hampton, a native of Palatka, Florida stationed in Ayer at the time. They had one son, John Jr, and went on to spend a blissful 49 years together in matrimony.

Kim Hampton was a longtime resident of Hinesville, GA and was of the Christian faith. Kim is best remembered as a loving mother and grandmother, who dotingly fed and welcomed any guests to her home. Her greatest enjoyment came from the hobbies she cherished; cooking, gardening, sewing and joyfully spending time with her family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in eternal rest by her family decedents of Leroy, Sr. and Ethel Hampton: Leroy, Jr. and Catherine Hampton, Herbert and Barbara Hampton, Latricia and Jimmy Lowe, Minnie and Louis Mims, Solomon Brown, Donald Hampton, Bobby Vickers.

She leaves to cherish her memories and mourn her earthly transition: devoted husband of 49 years, John Hampton Sr.; son, John, Jr. "Bebop"; three daughters-in-law, Helen Mohr McGuire, Lisa Krashna Lamb and Denea Hampton; six grandchildren, Megan McGuire, Sean McGuire, Ryan McGuire, Jillian Kimberly Hampton, John Hampton III, and Myla Hampton;  siblings; Pak Tok Ja, Tok Pu Nicholsen (Carl Nicholsen), Pak Chun Ok, Pak Ta Won, and Pak Ta Gong; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Herbert Hampton, Emma Brown, Rosa Vickers, Louis Ray Hampton
