Yalandra Michelle "Landi" Hughes, 44, of Palatka (formerly of San Mateo), entered the sunset of life on Sunday, June 11, 2023 at HCA FL Putnam Hospital. The daughter of Buster and Yvonne (Keenon) Hughes, "Landi" was born on Tuesday, July 11, 1978, in Palatka. She was a 1997 graduate of Palatka High School. For numerous years, Yalandra resided in San Mateo. She was a member of New Bethel AME Church, San Mateo. For approximately 10 years, she was employed as a sorter at Palatka Daily News. Her hobbies included spending quality time with her son and her favorite cousins, Dricca and Cherelle.
In addition to her parents, Yalandra was preceded in eternal rest by her maternal grandparents Eugene and Ferline (Floyd) Keenon; paternal grandparents, Buster and Edna Hughes, Sr.; son, Bryan Eulaund Hughes; brother, Christopher Lamonte Hughes; sister, Lisa Michelle Hughes; aunts, Delores Williams, Cassandra Keenon; uncle, Eugene Keenon, Jr.
To cherish her memories: son, Ja'Zion TreyVon Hughes; brother, Jeffrey Bernard Hughes; sisters, Renae Hughes Roberts, Yvette N. Watson, Wanda Wiliford, Jasmine Smith; uncles, Gerald (Betty) Hughes, Vernon (Ruth) Keenon, Lancy (Renee) Keenon; aunts, Betty (Horace) Hill, Barbara Jenkins, Brenda Keenon, Audrey Keenon; devoted godparents, David and Betty Fisher; special relatives, Christopher Alexander, Devon Watson, Ariana Hughes, Aniya Camps, Audriana Camps; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and close friends.
Visitation: 5-7 p.m., Friday, June 23 at "Flagg's Chapel of Serenity". Celebration of Life: 12 noon, Saturday, June 24 at Mt. Tabor First Baptist Church, 4909 St. Johns Ave., Palatka, Florida 32177. Rev. Sandra I. Gilyard, Pastor of New St. James AME Church, Welaka, is the eulogist. Interment: Old San Mateo Cemetery.
