Xavier Ulysses
Frazier
April 23, 2002 – April 25, 2020
Xavier Ulysses "Zay" Frazier, 18, of East Palatka, had entered the sunset of life unexpectedly Saturday, April 25, 2020 as a result of an accidental drowning while boating on the St. John's River. "Zay," the son of Rashad Jabir Leonard and Treijetta H. Frazier, was born on Friday, April 23, 2002 in Palatka. He was baptized at an early age and his family has been longtime affiliates of Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church. He was educated in the Putnam County School District at Palatka High School and subsequently Interlachen High School. He participated in weightlifting and was a middle linebacker on the Interlachen Rams football team and formerly the Palatka Panthers team. He was employed by Walmart, St. Augustine. "Zay" was an avid sports enthusiast who enjoyed football, hunting, fishing, four-wheeling, mud-bogging, and running dogs.
He was preceded in eternal rest by his sisters, Precious Jabir Leonard, Marissa Rasheed Leonard; maternal grandmother, Carolyn Frazier; maternal great-grandparents, Henry Lee and Loretta Frazier.
"Zay" leaves to cherish his memories: father, Rashad (Maryann Smith) Leonard, East Palatka; mother, Treijetta (Natavis) Frazier-Baynard, Interlachen; paternal grandparents, Barbara Leonard, Larry (Sharon) Leonard, Valery Evans-Leonard; maternal step great-grandmother, Frankie Frazier, East Palatka; brother, Julius Leonard; sisters, Xaria Frazier, Atiri, Tamir, Ra'Sheedra, Tykindra, Kyla, and Amauri Leonard; Joziyah Walker, Kenzlee Petty; aunts and uncles, Antwan (Evelin) Frazier, Timothy Spell, Stephanie McRae-Robinson, Tangela Clark, Kizzy Leonard, Kian Leonard, Carrie Leonard-Yapoor, Ennio Yapor, Tyshawn Anderson, Jermaine Evans, Jackie Harrell, Jamel Leonard, Ayesha Leonard, and Jasmine Leonard; and a host of other relatives, and friends.
Due to the current COVID-19 pandemic and the Governor's executive stay-at-home order, the Frazier family will conduct a drive-in Homegoing Celebration (attendees must stay inside their own vehicle) at 1 p.m., Saturday, May 2 at the Putnam County Fairgrounds, 118 Fairgrounds Road, East Palatka. Rev. Dr. Andrew McRae, Pastor, Faith Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church, Gainesville, will be the eulogist. Rev. Tommy J. Rodgers, pastor of Bethlehem Missionary Baptist church, officiating. The family has planned a private family interment in Oak Hill East Cemetery.
