Obituary

Willie Sylvester "Jack" White, 87, of Orlando (formerly of Crescent City) entered the sunset of life on Saturday, June 30, 2018 at VITAS Hospice, Winter Garden. A native of Andalusia, AL, he was born on Friday, November 14, 1930, to Ruben Jack and Mae Bell (Washington) White, Sr. He was raised in Crescent City and graduated from Middleton High School.  Jack was a self-made entrepreneur with one of the strongest work ethics known to man. He was a pioneer in many regards. He was a hard worker who owned several businesses including W&M Harvesting in Frostproof, FL for 20 plus years and he helped many people with jobs and a higher standard of living.

Jack was a loving, kind, generous man who treated everyone equally and never met a stranger.  He is fondly remembered by young and old alike as someone who took the time to give advice, and lend a helping hand when needed.  He was above all a family man and great provider.  He was an outdoorsman, an avid hunter and fishermen. He loved to travel and took his children on many vacations to expose them to the world. He spent much time with his siblings, nieces and nephews (as it was always a treat when "Uncle Boy" as he was affectionately known, would come to town). When asked how he was doing later on in life, he would always respond by saying "I've lived a good life" (and indeed he did).

In April, 1971, he accepted Christ and was filled with the Holy Ghost at Miracle Temple Christian Church in Frostproof, FL under the leadership of Pastor James C. Nelson. "Jack" was never shy about his faith in God and was known to pray for people and animals alike. At any given opportunity, he would speak of the goodness of God.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in eternal rest by his former wife, Edith Hart; daughter, Rachel White; sisters, Minister Lillian Kennell, Overseer Ruby Lee Trammell,  Minister Dorothy White Williams; brothers, Aaron White, Billy Ray White, James Otis White, Rueben Jack White Jr.

He leaves to cherish his memories: sons, Willie White Jr., Greensboro, NC; Boyzel White,  Lakeland; Asa Alonzo White, Long Beach, CA; Ezzard Charles White, Orlando; daughters , Mae Francis Roundtree, Valdosta, GA; Annie Lois White, Crescent City; Margaret White, Deland; Tonya White (Ronald) Johnson,  Frostproof; siblings, Elder Anna Mims, Bristol, PA; Elder  Hattie Mae (Al) Gillard, Trenton, NJ; Rutha Bell White, Elder William Hardy "Pete" White, both of Crescent City; Minister Cornelius (Barbara) White, Deland; former wife, Mary White, Frostproof ; 21 grandchildren , Johnathan, Jessie, Sally, Boyzel, Jr. (Melissa) , Monica, Artissa, Arlisha, Artist Jr., Ardrae, Tony, Aaron, Kendra, Laticia, Donita, Stephan, Sherein, Arnell, John-lane, Jason, Justin, Asha; 67 great-grandchildren, a host of nieces and nephews including special great-nieces, Kiace White, Kiondra White Brittany White, Keisha White Horton; god-children, Jackie Hall, Frostproof; Tiffany Anderson; a host of other relatives and friends.
