Willie James Strozier, Jr., 55, of Palatka entered the sunset of life on Friday, March 20, 2015 on US 17 at Decoy Road in Clay County as a result of injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident. A native of Miami, he was the son of Willie James Strozier, Sr. and Sally Mae Dumas-Hargrett, born on Saturday, July 18, 1959. Willie was educated in the Miami-Dade County Public School System. He later relocated to Palatka, where he was united in marriage to the former Sharon S. McCaskill on Tuesday, May 15, 2012. Willie subsequently enrolled into the Job Corps program and earned certification in Epoxy Flooring. He was a dedicated employee and supervisor with Industrial Surfacing & Lining, Inc., of Jacksonville for over ten years. His hobbies included watching newly released movies, college and professional football and also enjoyed fishing in his spare time. In addition to his father, Willie was preceded in eternal rest by his brothers, Joel Hargrett and Woodrow Johnson; his sisters, Jennie Hargrett and Annie Johnson. To Cherish His Memories: a devoted wife, Sharon Strozier, Palatka,; sons, Demetrius Strozier, Miami, Elijah (Tywonna) Jones, Gainesville, Travaris Rivers and Lutrell Rivers, Sr., both of Palatka; daughters, Shaquana Strozier and Iesha King, both of Miami, Kyshawnda (Larnell) Boykin, Sr., Palatka; siblings, Larry (Keisha) Hargrett, Kaye Francis Johnson, Daniel (Cassandra) Strozier, Karen Scott, and Norma Scott, all of Miami, and Linda (Charlie) Francis, Palatka; brothers-in-law, Hosea (Anne Marie) McCaskill, St. Augustine, Melvin McCaskill, Bernard McCaskill, and Bobby (Stephanie) McCaskill, all of Palatka; sister-in-law, Linda Kay McCaskill, Palatka; uncles, Sidney Dumas, Jr., Lakeland, Bobby (Joann) Dumas, Orlando; aunts, Mamie L. Dumas, Miami, Willie Mae (Alfred) Robinson, Betty Dumas, both of Palatka, Dorothy Thomas, Stockbridge, GA, Virginia Wallace, Decatur, GA; grandchildren, Demetria Strozier, Deyanna Strozier, Kaden Jones, Travis Hill, Tatiyana Boykin, Larnesia Boykin, Larnell Boykin, Jr., Lutrell Rivers, Jr., Tarvariana Rivers; and a host of other relatives and caring friends. Visitation of family and friends will be 5-8 p.m. Friday, March 27, at "Flagg's Chapel of Serenity." Homegoing Celebration will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, March 28, at Greater Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, 1000 North 19th Street, Palatka, Reverend Anthony Q. Robinson, Sr., Pastor. Apostle Dr. Cora B. Fells, Senior Pastor of Grace & Truth Deliverance Ministries, is the Eulogist. Interment will be in Oak Hill East Cemetery, Palatka.
