Mrs. Willie Lee "Aunt Cuda" Nixon, 88, of Palatka entered the sunset of life on Saturday, February 18, 2012 at Putnam Community Medical Center. A native of Lake Como, she was a lifelong resident of Putnam County. She was the daughter of Charlie Fields, Sr. and Lady (Gainey) Pringle Williams, born on Thursday, June 21, 1923. Willie Lee was a member of Mt. Zion Primitive Baptist Church where she served on Usher Board #1 in earlier years. She was co-owner of the former Sam Brown Neighborhood Grocery Store, which was located on the corner of North 16th and Bronson Streets. She enjoyed spending time with her family, and loved fishing and cooking. "Aunt Cuda" was passionate about feeding friends and neighbors. In addition to her beloved parents, she was preceded in eternal rest by her husbands, Sam Brown and Willie Nixon; brothers, Hilton Fields, Charlie Fields and James Pringle; sisters, Louise Pringle Marshall and Mary Bradley. Those who will cherish her memories: stepson, Tucker Brown, Jacksonville; loving nephews & nieces: Fred Calvin (Linda) Marshall; Marvin H. "Bobby" Marshall, Micheal (Mary) Marshall, Jerome Fields, Dexter (Latoya) Fields, Levi III, Torrance, Travis Denegal, Cynthia Marshall, Sherry, Lakeisha, and Tierra Denegal, all of Palatka; Keith Pringle, Oviedo; Anthony (Shaka) Fields and Kutana Fields, both of Daytona Beach; Bernard Fields, Tallahassee; Ruth (Roosevelt) Burley and Starr Anne Hines, both of Miami; Cavonda Fields, Columbia, SC; 55 great nieces and nephews; 35 great-great nieces and nephews; devoted cousin, Elder Daniel (Margaret) Gainey, Gainesville; sister-in-law, Blondeva Fields, Palatka; and a host of other relatives and devoted friends. Visitation of family and friends will be from 5 - 8 p.m. Friday, February 24 at the "Chapel of Serenity." Homegoing Celebration will be 11 a.m. Saturday, February 25 at Mt. Zion Primitive Baptist Church, 1501 Bronson Street, Palatka, Elder J.C. Tookes, Pastor, is the eulogist. Interment will be in the family plot at Evergreen Cemetery. The cortege will assemble at 10:20 a.m. at her nephew, Marvin "Bobby" Marshall's residence, 509 West Towles Road, Palatka
