Willie "Larry" Jones, 92, of Palatka was born on February 27, 1922 in Lamont, Florida (Jefferson County) to Edward & Alice (Savage) Jones. "Larry" was educated in the Jefferson County School District. He was later employed as a woodsman. "Larry" was of the Baptist faith and resided in Palatka for over 60 years. His hobbies included playing checkers and fishing. He was preceded in eternal rest by his parents. Willie entered the sunset of life on Monday, May 5, 2014 at Putnam Community Medical Center. He leaves to cherish his memories: sons, Willie Lamar "Will" (Yvette) Jones, Palatka; Wilbert Jones, Leslie Jones, Jacksonville; daughters, Mary Alice Mitchell, Sanford; Mattie P. Reddick, Yvonne Williams, Jacksonville; Belinda Daniels-Jones, Chesapeake, VA; raised as children, Lottie Watson, Carolyn (Reverend Curtis) Murray, Jacksonville; Ajai Johnson, Bethesda, MD; Bernice Jonson, Porter (Eve) Johnson, both of Palatka; sister, Annie Mae Jones-Frazier, Lamont; nieces and nephews, Mary Ann (Willie) Crimm, Betty Frazier, Johnny Frazier, Ulysses Frazier, Louise Frazier-Wallace, Frank Frazier, all of Lamont; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, cousins, other relatives and friends. Visitation of family and friends will be 5-8 p.m. Friday, May 9th and Celebration of Life will be 2 p.m. Saturday, May 10th at "Flagg's Chapel of Serenity".
