Warren Eugene "Smoke" Fells, 76, native and lifelong resident of Palatka, entered the sunset of life on Wednesday, July 23, 2025 at his residence. The son of Eugene and Claudia (Williams) Fells, he was born on Tuesday, August 10, 1948. He was a proud member and graduate of Central Academy High School Class of 1966. During his early years, drag racing and riding motorcycles were his favorite hobbies. Warren served in the U.S. Army for several years and earned the National Defense Service Medal and an honorable discharge. Upon returning to Palatka, he became employed at Georgia Pacific as a Tissue Converting Machine Operator. Throughout his life, Warren found joy in spending time with family and friends, watching one of his favorite TV shows - "Gunsmoke" and eating.
In addition to his parents, Warren was preceded in eternal rest by his grandson, Donterious Fells; brothers, Bill Fells and Timothy Fells.
Cherished memories of Warren remain with his daughters, Yolanda (Donnie) Esau, Marilyn (Izell) Session, Bridget (Curtis) McRae; sons, William Fells, Rodney Fells, Curtis Jones and Derrick Rasher, Sr.; brothers, James Fells, Leon (Janice) Fells, Eugene (Lisa) Fells, Dexter (Lisa) Fells, Reno (Angelita) Fells, Keith Davis, Kevin Davis, Ralph (Priscilla) Brown; sisters, Glenda Sharon, Ronice Reed, Novice White, Felicia (Terrell) Williams and LaShawn Harris; 14 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren; aunt, Lucy Hutcherson; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation of family & friends will be from 5-7 p.m., Friday, August 8th at "Flagg's Chapel of Serenity." The Celebration of Life will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, August 9th at Mt. Tabor First Baptist Church, 4909 St. Johns Avenue, Palatka. Reverend Karl N. Flagg, Senior Pastor, is the eulogist. Interment will follow in Oak Hill West Cemetery.
