Wanda Elaine Underwood, 55, native and lifelong resident of Bunnell, entered the sunset of life on Wednesday, May 19, 2021 at AdventHealth Daytona Beach. The daughter of Freddie and Truddie (Dudley) Underwood, she was born on Friday, October 22, 1965. She was educated in the Flagler County School System and was a 1983 graduate of Flagler Palm Coast High School. Upon graduating, she attended Daytona State College. She was baptized at an early age at St. James Missionary Baptist Church. Wanda enjoyed basketball, crabbing, fishing, cooking, and spending time with her family. From her early childhood, she gained the nickname "1-2" from her little brother. Over the years, she was employed as a childcare assistant and a domestic worker. In addition to her father, she was preceded in eternal rest by her stepfather, Ken Johnson; grandmothers, Mattie Lorick, Annie Mae Underwood; uncles, John Dudley, Anthony Lorick, Steve Underwood, Charlie Lorick.
She leaves to cherish her memories: fiancé , Bruce Marshall; mother , Truddie Underwood Johnson; daughter , Rezea Underwood; son, Michael Underwood; grandson , Tavarion Spearmon; brother , Freddie (Frances) Underwood; aunts and uncles, Jessica (Charles) Jones, Betty Novel, Edith Dudley, Beverly Dudley, ValMarie (Isaiah) Frederick, Josephine Underwood, RJ Dudley, Nathaniel Dudley, James Dudley; god-sisters , Vinnie Alexander, Letitia Ross, Loretta Ousley; godchildren , Jadquadis Johnson, James Moore, Sharmaine Giddens, John Harris, Chris Harris, and Davarus Bertha; nieces , Kimberly Emanuel, Felicia Underwood, Eden (Eric) Motley; cousin/ "like a sister," Carla Neal; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation of family and friends will be 5-6 p.m., Friday, May 28; Celebration of Life will be 2 p.m., Saturday, May 29, at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church, 108 Knox Jones Road, Espanola. Reverend Dr. Frank Giddens, Sr., Pastor. Pastor Gwendolyn Frost, Walk By Faith Outreach Ministries, is the eulogist. Interment will be in Masonic Cemetery, Palm Coast.
