Wanda Deneen "Neen" Pressley-McDuffie, the daughter of the late Mozella Pressley Burns and Obie "James" Cunningham, was born on Wednesday, May 31, 1967, in Gainesville, FL. At the age of 52, she entered the sunset of life on Monday, September 9, 2019 at Baptist Medical Center, Jacksonville. She was raised in Green Cove Springs for most of her early childhood. Around the age of ten, her family relocated to Gainesville, FL and she enrolled in the Alachua County School District. Subsequently, the family returned to Green Cove Springs and she resumed her studies in the Clay County School District and was a 1986 graduate of Clay High School.
At an early age, Wanda accepted Christ as her personal Savior and she became a faithful and very active member of First African Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor L.M. Jones, her godfather. During her childhood years, she served on the Youth Usher Board under the direction of the late Bessie Bryant Tucker and in the youth choir under the direction of Deaconess Mary Tuggles. Wanda was a devoted Deaconess and served in the First African Missionary Baptist Mass Choir.
On Saturday, May 10, 1986, Wanda was joyfully united in holy matrimony to Deacon Albert McDuffie. The two of them became soulmates and were devoted to one another from the day they exchanged vows until the day God called her to her eternal home and she took her last breath on this earth. She was passionate about caring for the elderly and worked numerous years as a home health aide and she devoted her latter years working at Kindred Hospital-North Florida in Green Cove Springs.
Deaconess McDuffie loved her family immensely! She possessed such a giving spirit and knew no strangers. She had a unique way that attracted others to her, especially youth and young adults. Her affectionate personality compelled many to have a desire to be in her presence. She brightened every room she entered with her beautiful smile and her lighthearted spirit… …and her laughter - it was like none other, it was infectious, contagious, and therapeutic.
She leaves to mourn and cherish her memories: loving and devoted husband, Deacon Albert McDuffie, Green Cove Springs; daughter, Diqueta Robinson, Orange Park; grandchildren, Jayden Williams, Kyahna Hinton, Riley Johnson and Ivory Williams, Orange Park; brothers, Lawrence (Sandy) Cunningham; Troy Cunningham, Michael (Rose) Burns, Green Cove Springs; Marlo (Denise) Burns, Irwin, Texas; Montoya Burns, Jacksonville; sisters, Vivian Griner, Pier Station; Sylvia (Eugene) Howard, St. Augustine, Deedra (Daniel) Berry, Jacksonville; godchildren, Elijah Bennett and Tayten Raymond, Starke; Virgil McDuffie, Tavian Raggins, both of Green Cove Springs; Antwan Smiley, Jacksonville and Tyler Lawson, Fleming Island; god-sister, Rhondalyn Robinson, Jacksonville; aunts, Sarah L.
