Following vocational retirement, Walt devoted Tuesdays and Thursdays as a Soup Kitchen volunteer at The Lord's Temple City of Refuge, Hastings serving along with Elder Thomas Cave. He usually spent Mondays and Fridays golfing with his brother Darryl and Uncle Emanuel. In addition to his parents and grandparents, Walt was preceded in eternal rest by his brother, Marvin Terrance Oliver.
