Obituary

Ulysses Grant Bailey, 61, of Jacksonville, transitioned on Friday, February 8, 2013 at the Earl B. Hadlow Center for Caring following an extended illness. A native and lifelong resident of Jacksonville, he was born on Thursday, May 10, 1951 to Allen and Aldosia (Gore) Bailey. He was educated in the Duval County School District (Long Branch High School), raised on Jacksonville's east side and was a retired master chef. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in eternal rest by his sister, Dorothy Jean Bailey. Those who cherish his memories: brothers, Allen Brown "William" Bailey, Jr., John L. Bailey, and Larry Bailey; sister, Aldosia (Audrie) Sails; devoted niece, Linda (John) Young, all of Jacksonville; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. until the time of service. Celebration of Life will be 3 p.m. Friday, February 15 at Paxon Revival Center Church, 5461 Commonwealth Avenue, Jacksonville, Dr. Steve B. Dobbs, pastor is the Officiant. Interment will be 10 a.m. Saturday, February 16 at Oak Hill East Cemetery, Palatka.
