Obituary

Tommie Lee Dump Holcy, 59, of Palatka, entered the sunset of life on Saturday, September 3, 2011 at Roberts Hospice Care Center, Palatka. A native of Maxville, FL., he was born on Friday, April 4, 1952 to Frank Jr., and Virginia (Epps) Holcy. At the age of five, the family relocated to Palatka and he was educated in the Putnam County School District. He was a graduate of Central Academy High School, promising class of 1970. Following high school, he enlisted in the U.S. Army attaining the rank of SP4 earning numerous citations including the National Defense Service Medal and Marksman Badge M-16. Tommie Lee was raised in the holiness faith and was a self-employed handyman who enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time with his family and friends.

He was preceded in eternal rest by his fathers, Frank Holcy, Jr., and Deacon William Henry Harris, Sr., sister; Doris Holcy Young; brothers; Johnnie Holcy, Sr. and Arthur Holcy; maternal grandparents, George and Willie Mae Epps; paternal grandparents, Frank Sr., and Mary Holcy.

He leaves to cherish his memories: his loving mother; Mother Virginia Harris, Palatka; wife; Ethel Mae Beauford Holcy, Palatka; sons; Tavis Session, Hyde Park, NY; Mico Holcy, Atlanta, GA; daughters; Kyshawnda McCaskill Boykin(Larnelle); Kyoshi Quita Holcy; both of Palatka; sisters; Assistant Pastor Frankie Davis Mincey (Ronald); Dr. M.L. Thomas, both of Palatka; Pastor Dorothy Moody (Reginald), Interlachen; Jerlene Perry (Vincent), Satsuma; Gale Harris (Ken Black), Palatka; Henrietta Johnson Harris, Orlando; brothers, William Harris, Jr., and Jimmie Harris, both of Palatka; devoted aunt, Prophetess Lula Mae Peoples, Palatka; 9 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation of family and friends will be 5-8 p.m. Friday, September 9. Homegoing Celebration will be 11 a.m. Saturday, September 10, 2011 at Bethel A.M.E. Church, 719 Reid Street, Palatka, Rev. James McGriff, Pastor. Rev. Karl N. Flagg, pastor of Mt. Tabor First Baptist Church is the eulogist.

The cortege will assemble 10:30 a.m. Saturday at his mothers residence, 125 East Towles Avenue, Palatka.

Interment with military honors will be in Oak Hill West Cemetery.
