Tomiko Takahashi Yingst, 85, of East Palatka, entered the sunset of life surrounded by her loved ones on Thursday, June 2, 2016 at North Florida Regional Medical Center, Gainesville, following a brief illness. The daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Seiji Takahashi, she was born on Sunday, October 19, 1930 in the Republic of Formosa, Japan. Tomiko grew up in Japan where she met and married the love of her life Carlos David Yingst, Sr. of Chalfont, PA. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Tomiko was preceded in eternal rest by her husband, and they are now reunitedand willcelebrate their 60th wedding anniversary on Sunday, June 12th in Heaven.
She leaves to cherish her memories: sons,
Carlos D. (Susan) Yingst, Jr., Slidell, LA; Joji M. (Victoria) Yingst, Palatka;
daughters,
Elizabeth Lee (Danny) Johnson, Gainesville; Jacqueline K. Yingst, Palatka;
brother,
Seidai (Miyoko) Takahashi, Japan;
grandchildren,
David, Diana and Dianne Yingst, Slidell, LA; Danielle (Trey) Whiddon, Newberry; Tyler P. King, Thomas (Joanna) Vosburgh, both of Palatka;
great-grandchildren,
Genevieve Claire Whiddon, Newberry; Tori Vosburgh, Palatka;
and a host of other relatives and friends.
A private family service was held at 2:30 p.m., Sunday, June 5, 2016 at "Flagg's Chapel of Serenity."
