IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Timothy Hawkins,
Jr.
August 3, 2001 – March 11, 2020
Timothy Milton Hawkins, Jr., 18, of Palm Coast, departed this earthly life on Wednesday, March 11, 2020 in Bunnell. The son of Timothy Milton Hawkins, Sr. and Dawn Maybin Hawkins, "T.J." was born on Friday, August 3, 2001 in Baltimore, MD. In 2009, his family relocated to Florida and "TJ" was educated in the Flagler County School District (Belle Terre Elementary, Rymfire Elementary, Indian Trails Middle, and Flagler Palm Coast High Schools, respectively). He was a 2019 graduate of Flagler Palm Coast High School. During his high school years, he was a member of the Student Government Association, the FPC football team, and the Thespian Society. Upon graduation, he attended Daytona State College where he was majoring in Computer Information Systems in pursuit of becoming a Computer Chemist.
"T.J." was very active in the community and loved by many. In his younger years he was a member of the Falcon's, the Police Athletic League's football team; the Wolf Pack another community football team; God's Family Bible Church's Upward Bound basketball team, the Palm Coast Seventh Day Adventist Church Pathfinders; and a participant in the NAACP's Summer Internship Program.
"TJ" was a beautiful person inside and out. His smile lit up any room when he entered. He would ALWAYS go out of his way to assist someone in need. And as we all know; "TJ" was a hugger!! He would hug anyone as his way of greeting them whether he knew them or not. Not only was he a caring person he was also a protector, especially when it came to his little brother, Caleb. He would let no one mess with Caleb even in jest. It often seemed as if "TJ" could not attain enough knowledge. He had an intense desire for knowledge and would study anything as a way of relaxing. He went so far as to read many books from various faiths in order to gain a balanced understanding of different religions, so that he could have an educated and informed conversation with anyone while staying grounded in his Christianity. "TJ" was also a peacemaker. If ever there were disagreements between his older siblings, he was Switzerland; the neutral bridge that everyone stood on. He loved when the entire family gathered and seemed to be the happiest during those times. That is until he met the love of his life, Nicole Gannett. After that, he would light up every time he mentioned her name. Life for "TJ" was not smooth sailing, however, with every trial and adversity that he faced he made the most of them and always learned something from each encounter.
Timothy was preceded in eternal rest by his paternal grandmother, Gwendolyn Shelton; maternal great-grandmother, Clemmie Wyatt; paternal great grandparents, Francis Shelton, Maggie Hayward, Russell Hayward.
