Thomas "T.B." Hembry, 88, of Palatka entered the sunset of life on Monday, October 10, 2016 at Putnam Caregivers, Palatka. A native of Edward, NC, he was born on Thursday, April 12, 1928 to Johnnie and Cynthia (Thompson) Hembry. Thomas was educated in the Beaufort County NC School District. He was united in Holy Matrimony to Jessie Mae Foster in 1964. He was a faithful member and Deacon at St. Joseph Primitive Baptist Church under the leadership of Elder Lemon J. Nixon. He was associated with St. Johns Chevrolet-Buick-Geo Co. and simultaneously the Williams Family Dairy Farm for nearly 40 years. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in eternal rest by his devoted wife of 34 years, Jessie Mae Hembry, sisters, Alberta Hembry Lorkin, Mary Grimes, Iona Hembry Harris, Blondie Hembry, brother, Leander Hembry.
He leaves to cherish his memories: aunt, Evelyn Hembry, Edward, NC; sister-n-law, Ruby Lee Jenkins, West Palm Beach; devoted niece, Pamela (Earnest) Smith, Lake Helen; goddaughter, Kim Jackson; godsons, Donterious J. Ashley, Keith Marshall, Palatka; and a host of other relatives and caring friends.
Visitation of family and friends will be 5-8 p.m., Friday, October 14, at "Flagg's Chapel of Serenity." Homegoing celebration will be 2 p.m., Saturday, October 15, at Mount Zion Primitive Baptist Church, 1501 Bronson Street, Palatka, FL. Reverend J. C. Tookes, Pastor. Elder Lemon J. Nixon, Pastor of St. Joseph Primitive Baptist Church, is the Eulogist. Interment will be in Gilgal Cemetery, Johnson.
