Theretha Jones Jefferson was born on Saturday, December 31, 1960 in Starke, Florida to Earlie and Florida Mae (Hampshire) Jones. She was a long time resident of Middleburg.  Theretha graduated from Orange Park High School in the Class of 1978. Theretha was married to Jesse Jefferson, Jr. and was the proud mother of two children - Jesse and Quintessa.  She enjoyed playing softball,  singing in the choir, cleaning, listening to gospel music and cleaning.  She was a member of St. Mark Baptist Church and used her gift as a part of the church choir.  For more than 25 years, Theretha was employed as a skilled housekeeper.

In addition to her parents, Theretha was preceded in eternal rest by her husband, Jesse Jefferson, Jr., brother, Nathaniel Jones and sisters, Barbara Jean Kirkland and Linda Miller.

Theretha entered into eternal rest on Sunday, April 27, 2025 at Ascension St. Vincent Medical Center, Clay County Campus, Middleburg, FL.

Cherished memories of Theretha remain with her daughter, Quintessa Jefferson; son, Jarrod J. Jones, Sr.; grandson, Jarrod J. Jones, Jr.; brothers, Henry Jones, Jr., John Sylvester Smith; sisters, Jackqulyn Jones, Sylvia O. Jones, Lisa M. Jones; aunt, Doretha Redding; 2 brothers-in-law; 7 sisters-in-law; a special friend, Kenneth Solomon; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
