Obituary

Theoderick Ceon Brown, 22, of Palatka, entered the sunset of life on Thursday,October 20, 2011 at Shands at the University of Florida in Gainesville, FL. A native of Gainesville, he was born on Friday, December 16, 1988, and was a Palatka resident most of his life. He was educated in the Putnam County School District, graduating from Palatka High School, class of 2007. Theoderick enjoyed cooking, playing basketball and hanging out with family and friends. He was a fast food chef formerly employed at McDonalds and Sonic. He had recently taken his military oath and sworn into the United States Army, anticipating his scheduled March 7, 2012 entry into basic training. He was a member of Calvary Missionary Baptist Church and in his early years participated in youth ministry and the youth ushers ministry.

He was preceded in eternal rest by his maternal grandfather, Ed Brown, Sr., paternal grandparents, Daniel and Blanche Woods; maternal great-grandmother, Rebecca Welch Taylor; uncles, Ed Brown, Jr. and Jock Tyrone Woods.

He leaves to cherish his memories: His loving mother, Betty Jo Brown, Palatka; father, Daniel Woods, Jr., Palatka; twin brother, Coderick Theon Brown, Palatka; maternal grandmother, Marethea Griffin, Palatka; numerous aunts and uncles; great aunts and great uncles; godfather, Mark Brown, St. Augustine; godmother, Julie Wright, Gainesville; special friend, LaDeshia Hightower, Gainesville; and a host of cousins, other relatives, classmates and caring friends.

Visitation of family and friends will be from 5 - 8 p.m., Friday, October 28, at the Chapel of Serenity. Homegoing Celebration will be 11 a.m., Saturday, October 29, 2011 at Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, 322 North 10th Street, Palatka, Reverend Frederick T. Demps, pastor, is the eulogist. Interment will be in Oak Hill West Cemetery.

The cortege will assemble at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at his mothers residence, 1908 Eagle Street, Palatka.
