Obituary

Thelma Lee Wiggs Pinder, 84, of Palatka entered the sunset of life July 29, 2008 at Putnam Community Medical Center. She was born on November 27, 1923 to the late Henry and Manilla Wiggs. From that glorious blessing blossomed a devoted Christian wife, mother and friend. As a Christian, she leaned on the promises of God. As a wife, she stood faithfully by her husbands side. As a mother, she was loving, nurturing and always comforting. As a friend, she stood with us to the very end, giving her best and settling for nothing less.

Thelma was educated in the Putnam County Public School system. Early in her life, she relocated to New York City where she worked as a Dietician Assistant for many years at St. Francis Hospital. During her tenure in New York, she met and married the late Eugene R. Pinder. They later moved to Miami, Florida and from this union was born a daughter. In 2000, she returned to her hometown where she remained until God called her home. She was a member of Mt. Tabor First Baptist Church under the pastoral leadership of Reverend Karl N. Flagg. Her beloved husband, Eugene R. Pinder, preceded her in eternal rest on April 25, 1995.
