Theetis Anderson George, 88, of Plant City, entered the sunset of life on Wednesday, April 13, 2022 at South Florida Baptist Hospital, Plant City. The daughter of Lula (Dave) Thomas and Mitchell "Dan" Hopkins, she was a native of Lake Butler, educated in the Union County Public School District and attended Nursing School in Jacksonville. Theetis was later employed at Lykes Brothers, Plant City for many years until retirement. She loved to serve the Lord and was a member of St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church, Plant City. She was an avid baker and was well-respected for her world famous red velvet cake. Theetis is already missed for her radiant smile and infectious love.
In addition to her mother, father and stepfather, Theetis was preceded in eternal rest by her husbands, Dan Anderson and Matthew Collins; sister, Thelma Lee Miles; son, Donald Collins; son-in-law, Ralph Bryant.
She leaves to cherish her memories: daughters, Shirley (Hollis) Collins, Phyllis (Will) Phillips, Larzetta (Charlie) Daniels, Sonja Bryant, Regina (Robert) Collins, Vera Hendrieth, Chiqueta (Louis) Hield; sons, Robert (Jackie) Collins, Lorenzo (Lori) Collins, Dan (Tracy) Anderson, Anthony (Annie Mae) Brown, John (Victoria) Hield, Tony (Chiqueta) Ross; sisters, Shirley (LeRoy, Sr.) Edwards, Betty (Silas) Jones, Mary (Steve) Williams, Patsy George, Margaret McClain; brothers, Charles (Darlene) Thomas, David (Valerie) Thomas; 31 grandchildren , 65 great grandchildren , 18 great-great grandchildren , and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, church family and special friends.
Homegoing Celebration: 12 Noon, Friday, April 29, 2022, at St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church, 108 S. Warnell Street, Plant City, FL, Elder Dr. Larry D. Sykes, pastor, officiating. Interment: 10 a.m., Saturday, April 30, at Edgewood Cemetery, 4519 N. Edgewood Dr., Jacksonville, FL 32219.
