Obituary

Terence Eric "Terry" "T-Count" Williams, 48, of Palatka, entered the sunset of life on Tuesday, September 24, 2013 at Mayo Clinic Hospital, Jacksonville. A native of Honolulu, Hawaii, Terence was born on Sunday, March 21, 1965 to James & Roberta (Howard) Williams, Jr. In 1980, during his teenage years, the family relocated to Palatka, succeeding their military travels. While enrolled in Palatka High School, Terry was an outstanding athlete (member of the 1982 PHS Championship Football Team) and was a 1983 PHS graduate. Initially Terry attended Florida A&M University (Rattler), Tallahassee, and later transferred to Bethune-Cookman University (Wildcat) where he earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science in 1989. His employment career commenced at K-Mart where was a Sporting Goods Manager. Since 1991, he has served as a Management Support Specialist with the Social Security Administration (former local office administrator). Terence united in holy matrimony to the former Katrina Lasheral Mabry on November 12, 1999. As a man of integrity and faith, Terry was an active member and ordained deacon of Calvary Missionary Baptist Church. Over the years, Deacon Williams served faithfully on the Deacon's Ministry, Chairman of CMBC Trustee Board, choir member, and Sunday School Teacher/Reviewer (his love and passion was discussing and teaching God's word). "Terry" was an avid sports fan and he followed all sports. His favorite NFL team was the Dallas Cowboys and he often quoted, "How about those Cowboys!" He was a Florida High School Athletic Association (FHSAA) official for football and basketball; Pop Warner, Semi-Pro, Suwanee and A-1 Football League official; youth coach for the Police Athletic League (P.A.L.) and Putnam County Parks & Recreation (football, basketball, flag football, softball and T-ball leagues.) He was the family's DJ and official photographer; fervent in working with youth, spending time with his family, enjoying music, playing on his computer and tinkering with his gadgets. Terence was preceded in eternal rest by his maternal grandparents, Clarence Howard, Sr. and Hattie McNeal Howard; paternal grandparents, James Williams, Sr., and Alice Mathis Williams; aunts and uncles, Anne Chavis, Elease Atkins, Wilbert Williams, Clarence Williams, and recently Wilford Williams. Those who cherish his memories; devoted wife of virtually 14 years, Katrina Williams, Palatka; daughter, Erica Williams (Courtney James), Palatka; stepchildren, Katia Hill, Reco Lewis, Tareke Lewis, Palatka; beloved parents, James and Roberta Williams, Jr., Palatka; sisters, LaSandra Williams and Angela (Derrick) Williams, Palatka; brothers, Charles (Brenda) Williams, Gainesville and Tyrone Williams, Palatka; grandchildren, E'Niya James, E'Nala James, T'Arus Session, Jah'mon Session, Palatka; sisters-in-law, Sandra (Alford) Brinkley, Palatka, Veronica Albright, Gainesville, Alfreda Williams, Doretha King, Palatka; brothers-in-law, Ronald (Delores) Mabry, Eugene (Debra) King, Johnny King, Aundrey King, Donald (Bobbi Jean) Baker, Sr., Palatka; godchildren, Lyrics Dasher, Jacksonville, Caleb Nelson, Nevaeh Nelson, Palatka; and a host of other loving relatives, compassionate church family, caring co-workers, and sorrowing friends. Visitation of family and friends will be 5- 8 pm Friday, October 4 at Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, 322 North 10th Street, Palatka. Homegoing Celebration will be 12 noon Saturday, October 5 at Calvary's Family Life Center, 1414 Bronson Street, Palatka. Reverend Frederick T. Demps, Pastor is the eulogist. Interment will be in Oak Hill East Cemetery, Palatka. The cortege will assemble at 11:20 a.m. Saturday at the family's residence.
