Tamekia Natasha Evans Ford, 51, of Palatka, entered the sunset of life on Saturday, December 30, 2023 at Haven Hospice Roberts Care Center, Palatka, surrounded by her loving family. The daughter of David Jackson and Cynthia Evans Calloway, Tamekia was born on Tuesday, July 4, 1972 in Boston, MA. She was educated in the Putnam County School District and subsequently earned her Associate's Degree - First Coast Technical Institute. She was formerly employed with Community Partnership for Children as a Case Manager. Tamekia was a devout believer in Jesus Christ, and she possessed and exhibited strong faith in the Lord in the midst of every situation through every situation and trial. She enjoyed shopping, decorating, being a listening ear, and spending time with her daughters and grandchildren.
In addition to her father, Tamekia was preceded in eternal rest by her husband, Robert Erwin Ford; maternal grandmother, Ola Mae Bell; maternal grandfather, Ezekiel Evans.
Tamekia leaves to cherish her legacy of love & faith: daughters, Jasmine Aasha Jones, T'Mia R'Jan E'Mari Ford; mother, Cynthia Calloway; grandchildren, J'Taziah Lee, Darrell Maxwell, III, Jaiseon Moore, Jai'Kyrie Myrick; "like sisters," Martha Clark Kearse, Lenore Williams; "like brothers," Herman Kearse, Tony "Duke" Whitty; aunts, Norma Jean (Oswald) Mobley-Spann, Gladis (Nathaniel) Thomas, Marion (Jerry) Walker, Anquinetta Evans, Vickie Evans, Christene Grines, Aaronion Evans, Crystal Evans, Monique Evans; uncles, Rory (Veronica) Jenkins, Amos (Stacie) Evans, Zack (Avery) Evans, Eddie (Sabrina) Allen; godchildren, Ja'tarra Smith, Oba Carter, Jr.; host of loving cousins, other relatives and sorrowing friends.
Visitation will be 5-7 p.m., Friday, January 5 at "Flagg's Chapel of Serenity." Celebration of Tamekia's Life will be 3 p.m., Saturday, January 6 at To God Be The Glory Holiness Church, 3521 St. Johns Avenue, Palatka, Pastor Linda L. Hall. Reverend Karl N. Flagg, Senior Pastor, Mt. Tabor First Baptist Church, is the eulogist. Interment will be in Oak Hill West Cemetery.
