Sylvester Willis, 72, of Orlando, entered the sunset of life on Friday, March 21, 2014 at ManorCare Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Winter Park, following an extended illness. The son of Buster (Mamie) Willis, he was a native of Hawkinsville, GA, born on April 5, 1941. He was educated in the Pulaski County, GA School District. He was of the Pentecostal faith and had resided in Orlando for the past 28 years. He enjoyed fishing, reading, and flying mechanical planes. He retired from the Orlando International Airport maintenance department. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in eternal rest by his wife, Dr. LaRine Davis Willis (June 16, 2013) and several siblings. He leaves to cherish her memories: devoted son, Clarence L. Willis, Orlando, sons, Charles Willis, Orlando, Earl Smith, Boynton Beach, Jerome Smith, Ft. Pierce, Sylvester Willis, Jr. Fort Myers; Eddie Bernard Lofton, Jr., Jacksonville, Aaron Lee Lofton, Orlando, and Ronald (Carla) Lofton, Jacksonville; daughters, Sylvia Willis, Ft. Pierce, Erliemae Buckles, Baltimore, MD, Josie Lewis, Titusville, Sandy Venetta Lofton, Baltimore, MD; brother, Robert Lee Willis, Ft. Pierce; sister, Jannie Bembry, GA; sister-in-law, Elouise Davis Romer, St. Augustine; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Visitation of family and friends will be 5-8 p.m. Friday, March 28th and Celebration of Life will be 2 p.m., Saturday, March 29, at Flagg's Chapel of Serenity, Apostle Michelle Duarte, Remnant Apostolic Ministry, Altamonte Springs, is the eulogist. Interment will be in Resthaven Cemetery, San Mateo. The family will assemble at the chapel thirty minutes prior to the service.
