Sinclair Jenkins entered the earthly realm of life on Sunday, April 2, 1933 in West Tocoi (Clay County) FL and returned home to enter the eternal realm of life on Friday, May 17, 2024, at Baptist Medical center Clay, Fleming Island. He was the son of Dora Dean (Jenkins) Pender and Ivory Pender, and was the eldest of 6 siblings. Sinclair Jenkins was educated in the Clay County School District and attended Dunbar High School. In 1951, he joined the United States Army and served faithfully in the United States Army and Army Reserves, earning numerous decorations, medals and citations including the Korean Service Medal w/1 Bronze service star; United Nations Service Medal; Combat Infantry Badge, Parachute Badge; and was a Purple Heart recipient before gaining his Honorable Discharge.
He was united in Holy Matrimony to the former Joanna Weeks on Friday, July 23, 1954 and they remained faithfully married until the Lord transitioned him home. In 1967, he became a devoted Christian and cherished his Bible and the teachings of Jesus Christ. He grew up in St. James Church of God in Christ, Green Cove Springs, where he was called and ordained as an Elder to preach the word. Superintendent Jenkins subsequently became a Pastor and a Superintendent in the Church of God in Christ. He was Pastoral Servant at Lake Helen COGIC for 35 years. He took solace in knowing the Lord was watching over him. His Christian values involved every aspect of his life and molded him into the beloved Servant of God and the people of God.
Superintendent Sinclair Jenkins was a faithful member of St James Church of God in Christ in Green Cove Springs, FL, Elder Sidney Bellamy, Pastor, until his health began to decline. Superintendent Sinclair Jenkins was preceded in eternal rest by his mother and father; son, Sinclair Devert Jenkins Jr.; daughter, Linda Joyce Holloway; sisters Alice, Lena, Annie Mae, and Mary.
To cherish his memories; his Lovely, Loyal wife and Soulmate of nearly 70 years, Joanna Jenkins; sister, Martha Baird (Charles); daughters, Brenda Lee (Robert), Cynthia Jenkins Tisdale Brown, Shirley Jenkins (Theodore), Leisa Artis and Erika Jenkins; sons, Patrick Jenkins (Tracey), Tony Jenkins (Johnette), Willie (Doug) Jenkins; grandchildren, Marion Adams. Jr. (Trisha), Terese Baker (Lucious), Sammy Fuqua, Edward Fuqua (Tamika), Kenneth Fuqua, MeLinda Holloway, Terrell Tisdale, Kevin Brown, Stefanie Jenkins, Santana Cheatham (William), Toshombee Jenkins, Jenavia Ali (Rashad), Unitsia Jenkins, Tomassi Jenkins, Brandon Jenkins, Latoya Jenkins, Bernard Presha, Patrick Jenkins, II, Kendall Jenkins, Atoya Jenkins, Toni Jenkins, Willie Pressley, III, Yossiana Pressley and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and numerous loved ones and special friends.
