IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Shirley Altamease
Felder
January 14, 1944 – October 14, 2019
Shirley Altamease Burke-Felder, 75, of East Palatka, entered the sunset of life on Monday, October 14, 2019 at Putnam Community Medical Center. A native of Palatka, FL., she was the daughter of Norman B. and Dorothy A. (Young) Burke, born on Friday, January 14, 1944. Shirley was a 1962 graduate and crowned "C.A. Queen" of Central Academy High School. She was a Putnam County School District bus driver for over 15 years and was subsequently employed by the ARC as a bus driver for 9 years, until retirement. She was the Burke family's matriarch and last surviving sibling of five in her generation. She attended Pentecostal Church of God in Christ under the leadership of Superintendent Johnny Shaw. She loved spending time with her family, playing bingo, and crying at the drop of a dime. Her favorite quote was, "I LOVE YOU WITH ALL MY HEART AND SOUL!!!!!"
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in eternal rest by her siblings, Earl R. Young, Leslie Brown, Margaret Herring, and Charles Burke, Sr., grandson, Christian Ledwell; nieces and nephews, Pamela Lumpkin, Dorothy A. Burke, Charles Burke, Jr., and cousin, Bernice Walker.
She leaves to cherish her memories: husband, James "Bubba" Felder, Palm Coast; three loving daughters, Sharon A. (Calvin) Jones, Norma Jean (Preston) Bartley, both of Palatka; Regina A. Ledwell, Palm Coast; grandchildren, Shondra (Timothy) Blyden, Tranell (Anthony) Steward, Kalisha Jones, Ophelia Jones, Zania Jones, Caliya Jones, Preshonia M. Bartley, James L. Bartley, Leontanae A.
