Shirley Ann Bunch was born on Tuesday, December 13, 1949 to Eugene and Estella Mae (Denmark) Bunch, in St. Petersburg, FL. Shirley was educated in the Pinellas County Florida schools and later attended vocational school. She was employed as a dental assistant for several years. In her leisure time she enjoyed fishing, watching television (especially western tv shows) and shopping. She was a member of Mt. Tabor First Baptist Church, Palatka.
In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in eternal rest by her youngest son, Shamari T. Gerald in 2017. She entered the sunset of life on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, at UF Health St. Johns, St. Augustine.
Cherished memories of Shirley remain with her son, Bjorn R. Gerald; grandchildren, Shamaria Gerald, Briana Gerald; great grandchildren, Lamar Davis and Ah'lani Davis; sisters, Stella Nelson and Patricia Purdy both of San Mateo and Betty Bunch of Detroit, MI; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation of family and friends will be 5-7 p.m., Friday, February 6 at "Flagg's Chapel of Serenity." Celebration of Shirley's Life will be 10 a.m., Saturday, February 7 at Mt. Tabor First Baptist Church, 4909 St. Johns Avenue, Palatka. Reverend Karl N. Flagg, Senior Pastor, is the eulogist.
