Obituary

Sheila Ann Williams, 60, of Palatka, entered the sunset of life on Thursday, February 5, 2015 at Flagler Hospital, St. Augustine. A native of Hastings, she was born on Tuesday, January 18, 1955 to Ruby & Odessa (Green) Williams, Sr. Sheila was educated in the St. Johns County School District (Hastings High School Class of 1972). She continued her education at Santa Fe Community College, Gainesville. In 1974 Sheila joined the United States Army Reserve and later received an honorable discharge. On May 4, 1978 she became the proud mother of Danal Rayvon Williams. She was a dedicated employee of Walmart for over 18 years. Sheila was very enthusiastic and passionate about furthering her education, thus she decided to pursue nursing at Bethune-Cookman College. She was a member of Pompey's Temple Church of God In Christ, Hastings, under the leadership of Elder Randall L. Chestnut. Sheila was a cheerful giver and loved being a blessing to others. She was a loving, caring person who loved her family and her church dearly. She also enjoyed traveling especially cruising. She leaves to cherish her memories: mother, Odessa Williams, Palatka; sister, Angela Williams Proctor, Palatka; brothers, Ruby Williams, Jr. Palatka, Eric M. Williams, Sr., Gainesville, Todd L. Williams, Jacksonville; grand-daughter, Danella Kinard, Hastings; aunt, Thelma G. Jones, Orange Mills, great aunt, Luella Sanders, East Palatka; a devoted companion of over 30 years, Earl Jackson; and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, god children and sorrowing friends. Visitation of family and friends will be 5-8 p.m., Friday, February 13, at "Flagg's Chapel of Serenity". Celebration of Life will be 11 a.m., Saturday, February 14, at The Lord's Temple City of Refuge, 140 Gilmore Street, Hastings, FL 32145. Elder Randall L. Chestnut, Pastor of Pompey's Temple Church of God In Christ, Hastings, is the eulogist. Interment will be in Palatka Memorial Gardens
