Sharon Yvette Lundy, 53, of Interlachen, entered the sunset of life on Monday, May 2, 2022 at Community Hospice, Bailey Center for Caring in St. Augustine. A native of Gainesville, she was the daughter of Freddie Lee Lundy, Sr. and Dorothy Jean Baker Young, born on Saturday, June 15, 1968 at Alachua General Hospital. Sharon was raised in Melrose and was a 1986 graduate of Interlachen High School. She furthered her education at First Coast Technical College (FCTC, formerly St. Augustine Technical Center). She was employed by FCTC for 22 years and for the past 8 years SJR State College as a Testing Assistant. She was a faithful member of The Palatka House of God Church where she served on the Pastor's Aide Ministry, Usher Ministry, Hospitality Ministry, and Greeters Ministry.
In addition to her mother, she was preceded in eternal rest by her adopted parents, Lee & Rosie Womble; 2 brothers, Eurlee Baker, Willie Lee Baker; sister, Gladys Baker; grandparents, Willie Womble, Evie M. Howard; grandfather, Tommie Howard, Sr.; aunt, Lillian Womble; nephews, Dwayne Eric Baker, Larry Watson, Jr.
She leaves to cherish her memories: father, Freddie (Rose) Lundy; siblings, Robin S. Young, Connie Watson; brother, Earl (Bernice) Baker, Gainesville; step brothers & stepsisters, Carmen Lundy, Curtis Lundy, Corlis Loretta Lundy, Carl Lundy, Levita Lundy, all of Miami; sister-in-law, Emma Jean Baker; aunts, Lillie Mae Womble, Diana Howard, Bessie Clark, Alice Williams; uncle, Tommie (Sandra) Howard, Jr.; Bessie Clark, Alice Williams; god-brothers, Rev. Gregory (Valerie) Pelham, Nathan (Dorothy) Gladden, Johnell (Develyn) Smith, Sr.; god-sisters, Rebecca (James) Reed, Wanda (Tony) Hutchinson; special cousins, Marion Archie, Johnny Archer, Carrie "Pokey" Cecil, Darryl "Bubba" Durant, Renee Dugan; and a host of other relatives and close friends, including the Brambaugh Family; Best friend, Helen Ware.
Visitation of family and friends: 5-7 p.m., Friday, May 13 and Homegoing Celebration of Life: 11 am, Saturday, May 14 at the Palatka House of God Church. Bishop Gilbert L. Evans, Jr., Pastor, is the eulogist. Interment: St. John's Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery, Melrose.
