Shannon Shicole Fenderson, 25, of Orange Park, entered the sunset of life on Monday, November 9, 2020 at Orange Park Medical Center, Orange Park. A native of Palatka, she was the daughter of Harold Fenderson, Jr., and Carol Simpkins, born on Wednesday, June 28, 1995. Shannon was educated in the Duval County School District at Andrew Jackson High School, Jacksonville. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Oakland, Jacksonville where she served on the Brides of Christ dance ministry. Shannon was a self-employed dancing entrepreneur and an aspiring make-up artist. Her hobbies included dancing, sports cars, and contemporary fashions. She was a member of Lane Changerz car club.
She was preceded in eternal rest by her maternal grandmother, Diane Simpkins Burton; paternal grandfathers, Harold Fenderson, Sr., and Willie Varnes; brothers , Harold Fenderson, III and Terin Simpkins.
She leaves to cherish her memories: fiancé, Dalton Roberts; mother, Carol Simpkins; father, Harold (Willetta Hobbs) Fenderson; daughter , Julianna Smith; sons, Julian Fenderson, Jace Ladson; paternal grandmother, Patricia Ann Varnes; maternal grandparents , Samuel and Cynthia Porch; brothers, Lavon Fenderson, Tevin Evans, Sean Glass, Tyrelle Fenderson, Ty'Darius Fenderson, Asali Williams; sisters, Ha'Shaunda Fenderson, Aun'yetta Fenderson, Lirric Fenderson, Brenesha Fenderson, Rukiya Williams, Chandra Hobbs, Chanae Hobbs, Tona Williams; aunts and uncles, Lori Porch, Roberta Porch, Shannon (Markiese) Majette, James (Toni) Porch, Brandon Porch, Norma (Terry) Vickers, Geraldine Varnes, Willie Varnes, Jr.; and a host of great-aunts, great uncles, nieces, nephews, other loving relatives and friends.
In compliance with CDC COVID-19 guidelines including required masks with social distancing, a visitation of family and friends will be from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, November 19 at Flagg Serenity Chapel. A Celebration of Life will be held at 12 Noon, Friday, November 20 at the Putnam County Fairgrounds Pavilion, 118 Fairgrounds Road, East Palatka. Minister Ella Patricia Warren of First Baptist Church of Oakland, is the eulogist.
