Obituary

Shamari Tremal Gerald, 36, of Palatka, entered the sunset of life on Monday, October 16, 2017 at UF Health, Jacksonville. The son of Tony Gerald and Shirley Bunch, he was a native of Miami, born on Friday, May 8, 1981. He spent his early years in Loris, SC and was educated in the Horry County, SC., School District. He was a graduate of Green Sea Floyd's High School and furthered his education at Phoenix University. Shamari was a former member of Mt. Tabor First Baptist Church. He was previously employed with American Hero Family Restaurant. He enjoyed rapping, writing music, laughing, having fun and especially wearing the latest fashions.

He was preceded in eternal rest by his father, Tony Gerald and maternal grandmother, Estella Bunch.

He leaves to cherish his memories: wife, Ebony Gerald, Loris, SC; daughter, Shamaria D. Gerald, Palatka; mother, Shirley Bunch, Palatka; brothers, Bjorn R. Gerald, Tampa; Maurice Gerald, Conway, SC; sister, Gloria J. Gerald, Miami; aunts and uncles, Patricia (James) Purdy, Palatka; Stella (Cecil) Nelson, San Mateo; Betty Bunch, St. Petersburg; Emma McSwain, Wilson Gerald, Jr., Brice Gerald, James Gerald, John Davis, all of Miami; godson, Gregory Baker, Jr.; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation of family and friends will be 5-7 p.m., Friday, October 27 at "Flagg's Chapel of Serenity." Celebration of Shamari's Life will be 2 p.m. Saturday, October 28, at "Flagg's Chapel of Serenity." Reverend Ronald Strong, Associate Pastor of Mt. Tabor First Baptist Church, officiating.
