Scott L. Forsythe, 50, of Palm Coast, entered the sunset of life on Monday, September 19, 2016, at Florida Hospital Flagler. The son of Jerry and Helen Forsythe, he was born Friday, September 9, 1966. He was educated in Grand Prairie, TX and was elected to serve as senior class president of his high school class. Scott was an outstanding athlete and excelled as the number one rated tennis player. He later attended Baylor University, Waco, Texas (August 1985 - December 1989) and earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business Administration with a minor in Marketing. Scott was a recipient of the Dean's List Award for academic excellence. He also served as the Student Body President, as well as a Member of the following organizations: Pi Sigma Epsilon (a professional marketing sales management fraternity), Academic All American, and National Honor Society.

In 1990, Scott was hired by K-Mart and moved quickly through Operations to Merchandise Manager to Store Manager by 1994. He held Senior Store Manager positions at six different retail stores in Texas, Oklahoma, Utah, California and Florida, respectively. Scott was intimately knowledgeable of successful retail management principles and practices. His last positions were with Wal-Mart in Palm Coast and finally as a Store Manager for Dollar General where he was awarded several Dollar General Awards of Excellence: (1) Best Total Customer Score, (2) Highest EBITDA % to Plan, and (3) Best Sales to Plan for District #212. Scott was a hard worker, loyal to his employers and known for his attention to customers.

Scott accepted Jesus Christ and was baptized in a Southern Baptist Church in Texas in his early teen years. In the summers, he traveled with a large youth singing group from his local church led by the church music director. He is now singing with the Lord. Scott loved Florida and enjoyed boating and fishing.

He leaves to cherish his memories: loving parents, Jerry and Helen Forsythe, Palm Coast; brother, Dr. Brian Forsythe, Dallas, TX; two loving daughters, Heather and Sarah Forsythe; ex-wife, Angela Forsythe.

Heather is in graduate school in Oregon working on a Ph.D. and Sarah is a Sophomore in Arkansas.
