MSGT Sandy Vanetta Lofton (USAF Retired), 51, of Hanover, MD, entered the sunset of life on Thursday, January 4, 2018, at Gwinnett Medical Center, Lawrenceville, GA. A native of Vero Beach, she was born on Tuesday, March 8, 1966 to Eddie and La'Rine (Davis) Lofton. Sandy was educated in the Indian River County School District. She served on the United States Air Force and retired following 21 years of Honorable Service. She subsequently earned her Master's degree from the University of Oklahoma and served as a college professor at the University of Maryland. Sandy was a devout woman of God who sincerely loved the Lord. Her hobbies included jogging, biking, reading, hand-dancing, cooking and traveling. Sandy was preceded in eternal rest by her parents.
She leaves to cherish her memories her siblings: Eddie Bernard (Cheryl) Lofton; Aaron L. Lofton; Ronald (Crystal) Lofton; Donald Lofton; and Clarence L. Willis; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews; cousins and friends including her devoted fiancé, Darrin Reagan.
Homegoing Celebration: 11 a.m. Saturday, January 13 at St. Peters Missionary Baptist Church, 4250 38th Ave., Vero Beach, FL. A Farewell visitation will be 3 p.m., Sunday, January 14 at "Flagg's Chapel of Serenity," 2400 Madison Street, Palatka. Interment with Full Military Honors will follow at Resthaven Cemetery, San Mateo.
