Obituary

Sandra Brinkley, 73, of Palatka, entered the sunset of life on Sunday, June 6, 2021 at Solaris HealthCare, Palatka. Sandra was educated in the Putnam County School District and was a member of Central Academy High class of 1966.

Sandra began her professional career as a Licensed Practical Nurse after graduating from Saint Augustine Technical Center in September of 1975.  She furthered her studies at Bethune Cookman College, Daytona Beach Florida pursing a Bachelors of Nursing Degree.

Prior to retiring, Sandra (affectionately known as "BRINK") was a servant first and foremost.  For over 40 years she was a devoted nurse who committed her time to caring for many over the course of her spectacular healthcare career at HCA/Putnam Community Medical Center and other surrounding facilities.

Sandra was baptized at an early age. Church affiliations included Bethlehem Baptist Church, New Life Temple Fellowship, and God's Manna Ministries. Sandra was a member of the Palatka Community prayer band, Ebony Women of Today (serving as a past president and treasurer) and Directress of the CITYWIDE Youth Movement.

Sandra was an avid yard sale shopper who loved people, enjoyed gardening, cooking, reading, collecting African artifacts, figurines, culturally enriching books and dolls and is known for her one a kind potato salad.

Preceding her in eternal rest includes her husband, Alfred Lee Brinkley; Mother, Maude Viola Mabry; Father, William Poole Sr., maternal grandmother , Ruth Baker Walker; b rothers, Andrew Mabry Jr. and William Poole Jr., Sisters, Jacqueline Diane Mabry and Tameka Poole; Uncle, Butler Baker Jr., Aunt, Alberta Walker Carter; Nephew , Antonio Williams Sr. and brother in law, Terence Williams.

TO CHERISH HER MEMORIES:  Daughter Stephanie (Gary) Wellon.; Son Kevin (Rena Wilson) Brinkley. Siblings: Donald (Bobbie Jean) Baker, Veronica Albright, Ronald (Delores) Mabry, Katrina Williams, Mary Jane Poole, Shirley Ann Jackson, James Poole, Jimmy Poole and Charles (Era) Poole; Mother in law : China Mae Neal; Brother-in-law : Jaime Brinkley; Sister-in-law : Robbie Brinkley-Clemons; Grandchildren: Kendoll Brinkley Brown, Gary Wellon Jr, LaGarass Wellon, Teareny Brinkley, Kevin Brinkley Jr, LaGarren Wellon, Katoriah Williams, Devin Brinkley and Fabian Miller. Great grandchildren: Jordan Tillery, Artavion Ward, Breyanna Wellon, Riley Deering, Aubrey Angibo, Sekani Miller and Gabrielle Wellon; and a host of Nieces, Nephews Cousins, Classmates, Colleagues and Friends.

CDC guidelines will be followed for the visitation of family and friends from 3-5 p.m., Saturday, June 12 at "Flagg's Chapel of Serenity." Celebration of Sandra's Life will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, June 13, at Palatka High School Commons, 302 Mellon Road, Palatka. Co-Pastor Isaac Brinson, Sr., Church of Recovery, officiating. Interment will be in Oak Hill East Cemetery.
