Obituary

Samuel Wright, 82, of Palatka, entered the sunset of life on Sunday, March 21, 2021 at Memorial Hospital, Jacksonville. A native of Estill, SC., he was the son of Marion S. and Rosa L. (Bryant) Wright, born on Tuesday, September 6, 1938. He was educated in the Estill County, SC Public School System.  He has resided in Palatka for many years, moving from Hastings.   Samuel was a workaholic and enjoyed staying home.  He was a retired farm laborer employed by C.P. and Wesley Smith Farms, Inc. He loved watching cowboys, wrestling and the news.

In addition to his parents, Samuel was preceded in eternal rest by his wife, Willie Mae Wright, brother, Nathaniel L. Wright, Sr.

He leaves to cherish his memories: son, Samuel E. Wright; daughter , Tremesa L. Wright (Abram Smith), both of Vero Beach; grandchildren, Satiqua E. Bell, Armani N. Hawkins; brothers, Willie J. (Gloria) Wright, North Augusta, SC; sisters, Rosa Mae Wright, Lena SC; Inez W. Williams, Jacksonville, NC; former wife, Mildred Williams; special friend and devoted caregiver, Lois Coley, Palatka; and a host of other relatives and friends.

In compliance with CDC COVID-19 guidelines (including required masks) a socially-distanced visitation will be 5-7 p.m., Friday, March 26, and Celebration of Samuel's Life will be 2 p.m., Saturday, March 27 at "Flagg's Chapel of Serenity." Interment will be in Resthaven Cemetery, San Mateo.
