Samuel
Williams, Jr.
December 13, 1964 – March 23, 2026
Samuel “Brickstone” Williams, Jr., the son of Annette Greene and Samuel “Sammy Bones” Williams, Sr., was born on December 13, 1964 in Palatka, Florida. He was educated in the Putnam County School District and graduated in the Class of 1983. Sam was a neighborhood legend in track and field. He was a star athlete, who ran the third leg of the 4x100 relay which contributed to the 1981 - 3A State Track Championship Team and the State Runners-Up in 1983. He also became a State Champion in an individual event in 1983, The Triple Jump “Tripple Skipper”.
“Brickstone” was an All-American Track Athlete who accepted a full-ride scholarship, at Troy State University in Troy, Alabama. Brickstone and his amazing, supportive mother drove for 7.5 hours, one way. He made it to the front doorstep of Troy State University when he decided he did not want to attend college anymore. What a ride that was back to Blimp Town. "Brickstone" returned home where he was well-known and well-respected as “OG Brickstone.” If you knew him, you had to love him! No matter what he did or said. He did a lot and said a lot.
"Brickstone" was a man who was determined to live life on his own terms. That’s called a FREE-MAN! He was no slave to anyone’s thoughts or opinions about himself. He was a FREE-spirited, God-loving, family and community caring, supportive, cheerful, helpful, and aggravating man, when he’s having an allergic reaction. There wasn’t any shame in his game! "Brickstone" was who he said he was, and shame on you, if you didn’t believe him! "Brickstone" loved reading his bible, watching cowboy movies, track and field championships, riding his cruiser, and singing gospel, old school/Motown, and hip-hop songs. He also enjoyed volunteering at the local Sharing Putnam’s Bounty Food Pantry under the leadership of his faithful sister, whom many that are close to him, call her his mother, and he affectionately called her “Jack”, SGM Michelle J. Jackson-Session. Don’t YOU mess with her Sam!!!
Samuel was a member of Mt. Tabor First Baptist Church, under the leadership and guidance of Rev. Karl N. Flagg. Rev. Flagg was not only his Pastor, but a friend and mentor. Many times, Pastor Flagg was that guy!!! He loved and was proud telling people his church home and his Pastor. He also formerly served as the Church custodian.
"Brickstone" was a hard and dependable worker. He had several jobs throughout the States. During his 12-year tenure in Baltimore, Maryland with his younger brother, Stephen “Kaz-Lo”, he landed employment with Patriarch, Inc. and Personal Angels Inc., (Building Maintenance Companies) as a Floor Technician. He worked in the headquarters building of Social Security Administration, Woodlawn, MD, Baltimore City Public Schools, The USNS Comfort Medical Ship (TAH-20) when docked in Baltimore, MD, Fort George G. Meade (U.S. Army), MD, Camden Yards (Baltimore Oriels Baseball Stadium), the Department of the Interior, (Washington, DC), and The Philadelphia Shipyard, (Philadelphia, PA).
Later, "Brickstone" relocated to the mid-west for a couple years with his older sister “Jack” and found employment at McDonalds, KFC, and Walmart, where he became the Lead Floor Technician, while living in Illinois, at Scott Airforce Base, St. Clair County, Illinois. He found his way over the bridge to St. Louis, Missouri. The Gateway Arch to the wild, wild, West had a sign on it saying: “Welcome Sam 'Brickstone' to The West!!!”
In addition to his father, Sam was preceded in eternal rest by his maternal grandparents, Joseph and Hannah Greene; paternal grandparents, Pearl and Essie Mae Williams; brother, Willis “Bubby” Glover, Jr.; nephew, Bryan Massey; loving special friend, Patricia “Trisha-Ann” Colson.
Samuel was called home on Monday, March 23, 2026 at his residence.
He leaves to cherish his memories: devoted mother, Annette Greene; brother, Stephen (Mary) Williams; sisters, Michelle Jackson-Session (faithful & devoted sister), La’Tanya Massey, Samantha (Joel) Bernard, Veronica (Joe) Bacon, and Lolithea (Charles) Crooms; aunt, Tomsena Greene; uncle, Robert (Juanita) Greene; nephews, Stephen II (Yosenia), La’Tray, Tyrone (Shakia), Horace (Kristen); nieces, Khandi, Darshel (Jarrett), Ashley (Kenneth), Tyronda (Tion), and Samara; close friends, Bruce Hardy, Anthony Milton, Timothy Colson, Sr., and Barry Milton; special mother, Ms. Barbara Milton; “like a father”/mentor, Coach Ken Brauman; and a plethora of cousins, other relatives and friends.
