Obituary

Samuel "Butch" Harrell, Jr. 64, of Palatka, entered the sunset of life on Tuesday, May 15, 2018 at North FL Regional Medical Center, Gainesville. A native of Tarboro, NC, he was the son of Samuel Harrell, Sr. and Estelle Edmond Harrell, born on Thursday, July 23, 1953. He was educated in the Edgecombe, NC., County School District at W. A. Pattillo High School. "Butch" was a member of First Born Church of the Living God under the pastoral leadership of Bishop W. L. Smith, Sr. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with family. In addition to his parents, Butch was preceded in eternal rest by his wife, Sharon Evon Brinson Harrell (May 7, 2016.)

He leaves to cherish his memories: 4 sisters, Carol Stith, Leesburg; Cynthia (John) Knight, Tarboro; Angela "Niecey" Harrell, Jacksonville; Vickie (Clarence) Taylor, Savannah, GA; 2 brothers, Robert Harrell, Goldsboro, NC; Dennis Harrell, Lakeland; aunt & uncle, Deloris (John) Love and Johnny Bryant both of Maryland; special relatives, the Brinson family; and a host of other caring relatives and friends.

Visitation of family and friends will be from 4-7 p.m., Friday, May 25, at "Flagg Chapel of Serenity." Homegoing Celebration will be 11 a.m., Saturday, May 26, at Passionate First Born Church of the Living God, 1708 Madison St., Palatka, Elder James Matthews, Pastor, is the eulogist.
