Obituary

Sadie Jacqueline "Jack" Manning, 78, of Palatka, entered the sunset of life on Saturday, February 22, 2025 at Haven Hospice Roberts Care Center, Palatka. The daughter of Boyd Manning and Mandy Miller, she was born on Friday, November 1, 1946 in Wacissa, FL. Sadie was educated in the Putnam County School District and a 1966 graduate of Central Academy High School. She was a former member of Church of God by Faith, East Palatka under the leadership of Pastor David Roberts, Sr. where she served as a missionary. Sadie worked as a farm laborer and was formerly employed by American Radionics and Norfolk Southern Fish Camp. She enjoyed cooking, going to garage sales and spending time with family and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in eternal rest by her daughter, Margaret Oliver; son, Gregory Baker, Sr.

She leaves to cherish her memories: daughters and son, Sheila (Darrell) Purifoy, Palatka; Jonathan Baker, San Mateo; and Roshunta (Chris Evans) Baker, Tampa; grandchildren, Marquise Fuce, Crystal (Shawn) Castor, Reginald Parker, Jr., Darrell Purifoy, Jr., Jose Reeves, all of Palatka; Shy Baker, Gregory Baker Jr., Mer'San Baker, La'Maggie Baker, Jazmine Canty, De'Jah Baker, Sharhonda Purifoy, Carmen (Eric) Young, Shanteria Purifoy; great grandchildren, Kemiyah Hall, Keith Hall, Jr., Kai Hall, Kingston Hall, La'Darien Baker, Kymani Tobler, Al'Shyonta Williams, Queen Gardner, Samiah Baker, Jayden Manning, Faith Hill, Autumn Castor, Legend Baker, Amina Baker, Serenity Reeves, Jxxon Reeves, Yazmine Shivers, Sh'liyah West, Tristian Blue, Laila Lucas, Eric Young, Jr.; sisters, Josephine Hall, Doretha Manning; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation of family and friends: 5-7 p.m., Friday, February 28 at New Bethel. Celebration of Life: 10 a.m., Saturday, March 1, at New Bethel A.M.E. Church, San Mateo. Interment: Old San Mateo Cemetery, San Mateo. Reverend Sandra Gilyard, St. James A.M.E. Church, Welaka, is the eulogist.
