Sadie Maria Jenkins Ginwright, 62, of Palatka, entered the sunset of life on Thursday, August 10, 2017 at her residence. The daughter of Fletcher Bryant and Ruth Jenkins, she was born on Wednesday, February 23, 1955 in Rochester, NY. At an early age, the Jenkins family relocated to Palatka. She was educated in the Putnam County School District at Central Academy High School, where she was a majorette in Central Academy's Marching Bulldogs Band. She was a devoted homemaker and was formerly a Certified Nursing Assistant employed by Holly Point Manor Senior Living Community of Orange Park. She was a member of the Palatka House of God Church. She was united in marriage to her dearest friend, Moses Ginwright, Jr. Sadie was a cheerful, humor-filled soul who enjoyed life to the fullest and never met a stranger.
In addition to her parents, Sadie was preceded in eternal rest by her brother, Willie Lee Jones, Jr.
She leaves to cherish her memories: husband, Moses Ginwright, Jr., Palatka; daughter, Lakesha (Marcus) Thomas, Oveido; sons, Mister (Kristen) Williams, Ocala; Brandon Williams, Palatka; step-daughter, Katrina Strong, Albany, NY; 10 grandchildren; brother, Jack Harrell, Jr., Palatka; uncle, Ivory Wright, Hampton, GA; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation of family and friends will be 5-8 p.m., Friday, August 18 at "Flagg's Chapel of Serenity." Homegoing Celebration will be 2 p.m., Saturday, August 19, at Palatka House of God Church, 723 North 19th Street, Palatka, Bishop G.L. Evans, Jr, Pastor. Reverend Travis Reynolds, Assistant Pastor will be officiating and Reverend Karl N. Flagg, Pastor, Mt. Tabor First Baptist Church, is the eulogist. Interment will be in the Palatka Memorial Gardens.
