Ruth Naomi Plummer, 68, of St. Augustine, entered the sunset of life on Saturday, December 15, 2018 at Flagler Hospital, St. Augustine. The daughter of Andrew Jackson and Henrietta Elizabeth (Williams) Plummer, Sr., she was a native and lifelong resident of St. Augustine, born on Wednesday, September 6, 1950. A 1968 graduate of Richard J. Murray High School, she was overjoyed while attending her 50th class reunion in September. At an early age, she was an active member of St. Luke A.M.E. Church and later united with New Mt. Moriah Christian Ministries. She was employed as an office employee (first female) at Fairchild- Hiller Aircraft Manufacturing Company; administrative assistant at Turner Construction Company, Los Angeles, CA; photographic services administrator for the PGA tour; manager at Southern Villa, and Council on Aging volunteer. She loved to cook and bake and she catered many events along with her loving partner, Thomas Ford. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in eternal rest by her brother-in-law Calvin Jordan, Sr., devoted lifetime friend, Sandra Louise Smith-Gilliam.
She leaves to cherish her memories: loving and committed partner, Thomas Ford, St. Augustine; son, Royce (Ebony) Martin, Durham, NC., 3 grandchildren, Chase, Kendall, Kelsey Martin; siblings, Laura Jordan, Angelia (Robert) Singleton, Gwendolyn Sermon, Peggy (David) Ingram, Andrew (Vickie) Plummer, Jr.; nieces and nephews, Calvin Jordan Jr., Renee Jordan, Kenneth Singleton, Bridget Sermon, Jerri Plummer, Dawnyelle Singleton, Andrew Plummer III, Amber Ingram, Denzel Ingram; devoted cousins, Barbara Richardson Johnson, Shirley Pooler Kinsey, Sandra Lampkins and Linda Lampkins; dedicated and lifelong friends, Carolyn Hamm, Rhonda Dennings; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation of Family and Friends will be 5-7 p.m., Friday, December 21, and Homegoing Celebration will be 2 p.m., Saturday, December 22, at New Mt. Moriah Christian Ministries, 650 Christopher Street, St. Augustine, Elder Ronald Stafford, Pastor is the eulogist.
