Ruby McClendon Buie, 68, of Fayetteville, NC, entered the sunset of life on Monday, September 21, 2015 at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center of Fayetteville. A native of Palatka, she was the daughter of Albert and Rosa Lee McClendon, born on August 9, 1947. She was a graduate of Central Academy High School, Class of 1965. She continued her education at Fayetteville Technical Community College (Culinary Arts program). Mother Buie was a godly woman and a faithful member of New Bethel Pentecostal Church, serving in the Sunday School and the Women's Ministry. She was an inaugural member of the Praise Team and her heart remained with them even after her physical absence due to declining health. She loved children of all ages and was a nurturer and caregiver. Known by everyone for her cakes and cooking, she simply loved to share with others. Even when she could not physically help with needs in the church, she would pick up the phone and call to encourage those in need. Mother Buie was the loving mother of one son, who preceded her in eternal rest, Timothy "Timmie" Buie on July 9, 2015. Visitation of family and friends will be 5-8 p.m., Friday, October 2, and Celebration of Ruby's Life will be 11 a.m., Saturday, October 3 at "Flagg's Chapel of Serenity." Pastor Jerry D.
