January 26, 1941 – January 29, 2021
Mother Ruby Lee Richardson Andrews, 80, of Palatka, peacefully entered the sunset of life on Friday, January 29, 2021 at North Florida Regional Medical Center, Gainesville. A native of St. Augustine and daughter of Corine Daniels and Walter Lee Robinson, she was born on Sunday, January 26, 1941. She was reared in Vermont Heights (St. Johns County) and graduated from Walter E. Harris High School, Hastings. She married David E. Richardson, Sr. who preceded her in eternal rest due to an untimely automobile accident in 1965, along with their son, Anthony. They resided in Philadelphia, PA and she served as the State soloist for Commonwealth Jurisdiction COGIC. She eventually relocated to Palatka and began singing locally with the Benjamin Family, including: Naomi Watts, Priscilla Appling, and other regional gospel groups. She relocated to Smyrna Delaware and was employed at Campbell Soup. In 1978, she returned to Palatka and became a true servant of the Lord and joined Pentecostal COGIC. Subsequently, she married Supt. Samuel Andrews and served as 1st lady of Pentecostal COGIC. Mother Andrews served in numerous ministries including: evangelism, missionary, noon day prayer, Sunday school, radio broadcast, sick and shut in, music and choir ministries.
In addition to both of her husbands and parents, she was preceded in eternal rest by her father, Deacon Clinton W. Esau; sons, Anthony Maurice Richardson, Terrance Antonio Richardson; brother, Dea. Arthur Lee Coley, Sr.
She leaves to cherish her memories: son , Dr. David (Michelle) Richardson II, granddaughter , Monique Le'Shaye Richardson; grandson , David (Shequel) Richardson III; great grandsons , Uriah King Richardson and Judah Zaire Richardson, and other kindred family members, especially: the Boyd's, Esau's, West's, Givens', Hendrieth's, Hayward's, and the Jackson's.
In compliance with CDC COVID-19 guidelines including required masks with social distancing, a public visitation of family and friends will be from 5-7 p.m. Friday, February 5, at Pentecostal COGIC, 624 North 9 th St., Palatka, Elder Earl Matthews, Pastor. A Legacy Celebration will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, February 6, at The Lord's Temple City of Refuge, 140 Gilmore St., Hastings, Bishop Thomas Cave, Senior Pastor. Bishop Eichelberger, Pastor, Cathedral of Deliverance, Jacksonville, is the eulogist.
