Roy Lee Smith, III, the son of Roy Lee Smith, Jr. and Brenda Smith, was born on July 31, 1979 in Nassawadox, VA. He was a 1998 graduate of Palatka High School. After residing in Temple Texas, Roy returned to Palatka. He was employed by PepsiCo as a display sales associate for 10 years. Roy had a deep love for classic cars and enjoyed reading, watching movies and biography shows, and playing video games. Above all, he cherished being surrounded by his children and family where he felt most at peace and most himself. He was preceded in eternal rest by his father. Roy peacefully entered the sunset of life on Thursday, February 5, 2026 at his residence.

He leaves to cherish his memories: wife, Tarsha Smith, Palatka; mother, Brenda Smith, Orange Park; like a father, Rudolph McCaskill, Sr., Crawfordville; sons, Deontae Smith, Keontae Smith, Leetrez Smith, Rashad Leonard, Aavin Smith, Roy Smith IV, Troy Smith, Royce Smith, Royalton Smith, Joseph Smith, Jesse (Druscilla) Holtz and Terrence Cooper; daughters, Ramiya Smith, Rashae Leonard, Daisha (Demarea) Faison, Brittany Smith and Briasiah Cooper; 14 grandchildren; brothers, Mark Webb, Rudolph McCaskill, Niquilla (Amber) McCaskill, Eric (Jessica) Spady, Jermaine Chisum, Triante Brown; sisters, Sy’Rhonda (Larry) Wolfe, Kiwani Jackson, Ka’Shada McCaskill, Shalonda (Lamar) Rush, La’Roya Smith, Lattika Chandler; god-daughter, DJasha Williams; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation of family and friends will be 5-7 p.m., Friday, February 20 at "Flagg's Chapel of Serenity." Celebration of Roy's Life will be 3 p.m., Saturday, February 21 at Mt. Tabor First Baptist Church, 4909 St. Johns Avenue, Palatka, Reverend Karl N. Flagg, Senior Pastor. Elder James Matthews, Passionate First Born Church of the Living God, officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Hill East Cemetery.
