Obituary

Rose E. Sally-Howard, 65, of Palm Coast, entered the sunset of life on Tuesday, September 9, 2014 at the Stuart Meyer Hospice Care Center of Palm Coast. The daughter of John Henry and Clara Lee (Calhoun) Howard, she was a native of Manhattan, NY, born on Sunday, August 14, 1949. She was educated in the NYC School District, graduating from Washington Irving High, Class of 1967. Following graduation, Rose was employed as a bank teller. In 1971 she was united in marriage to Mark O. Sally and in 1974 they became the proud parents of one son, Berkley Marc Sally. In 1981, she was employed as a ticket clerk by the Long Island Railroad where she served for 23 years, later promoted to ticket agent and supervisor. In 2010, Rose relocated to Palm Coast. On June 30, 2013, Sister Rose united with Mount Calvary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Edwin Coffie. She was a loving person who wore a radiant smile and always giving unselfishly of herself. She was a beautiful person to everyone who knew her. She was preceded in eternal rest by her father. Answering God's call, she leaves to cherish her precious memories: her son, Berkley Marc Sally, Flushing, NY; her mother, Clara Lee Howard, New York City., granddaughter, Ashana Lashea Sally; New York City; her siblings, Carol Howard-Brown and Jean (William) Ringo, both of Palm Coast, John Henry Howard II, Queens, NY, Jennifer Howard, Warner-Robins, GA; sister-in-law, Patricia Eley, New York City; and numerous nephews, nieces, cousins and friends. A Homegoing Celebration Service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, October 4, 2014 at Mount Calvary Baptist Church, 75 Pine Lake Parkway South, Palm Coast, FL, Pastor Edwin Coffie, is the Eulogist.
