Rose Marie "Bosco" Chester Francois, 79, of Orange Park, entered the sunset of life on Monday, January 28, 2019 at Orange Park Medical Center, Orange Park. The daughter of Beatrice Grooms and Charlie James Chester, she was a native of Palatka, born on Friday, November 24, 1939. Rose was educated in the Putnam County Public School District. Upon relocating to Miami, she became a substitute school teacher in the Miami-Dade School District. She was a member of Lighthouse Power & Praise Cathedral, Naranja (South Miami-Dade County), FL. Rose enjoyed life and had many hobbies, especially traveling and spending quality time with her family and friends. Her warm smile and laughter is already missed by all who knew and loved her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in eternal rest by her siblings, George Chester, Bessie Chester, Carolyn Goodman-Chester, Mary Merritts, Carrie McClinton, and Charley Lumpkins.
She leaves to celebrate her life and cherish her memories; husband, Jean-Pierre Francois, Plantation, FL; daughters, Evangelist Patsy Lherisson, Jacksonville; Norma (Youlexte) Janvier, Tamarac; Sheila (Dieujuste) Beauvil, Augusta, GA; sons, Eric (Lisa) Russell, Sr., Miami; Stacey (Jill) Chester, Seattle, WA; Michael (Hazel) Chester, Miami; sister, Evelyn Johnson, Palatka; brother, Nick (Veronica) Chester, Miami; 40 grandchildren, including her eldest grandchildren, Jasmine, Aaron, Chevelle, Damien, Shawony, Eric, Jr., Lulu, Shantale, Michelle, and Shanwtavi; 31 great-grandchildren, numerous great great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends; special friend, David Sheffield, Jr., Orange Park.
Visitation of family and friends will be 5-8 p.m., Friday, February 8, at Flagg's Chapel of Serenity. Homegoing Celebration will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, February 9, at Mt. Tabor First Baptist Church, 4909 St. Johns Avenue, Palatka. Apostle Arlene B. Davis, Lighthouse Power & Praise Cathedral of Naranja, is the eulogist.
