Obituary

Rosa Mae Williams Youman, 78, of Palatka, entered the sunset of life on Sunday, July 19, 2015, at Putnam Community Medical Center. A native of St. Marys, GA., she was the daughter of Robert Lee Sr., and Thelma (Floyd) Williams, born on Monday, August 31, 1936. She was 1953 graduate in the Camden County GA School District and was also the school's 1953 Homecoming Queen. Rosa was united in marriage to Tommy Lee Youman, Sr., who preceded her in eternal rest. Rosa was a faithful member of the Pentecostal Church of God in Christ under the leadership of Superintendent Johnny Shaw. "Mother Rosa" loved planting flowers, cooking, taking care of her dogs and spending time with her family. In additional to her parents and husband, she was preceded in eternal rest by her brothers, Carl "Wimpy" Williams, Edward Williams, Robert E. "Cary" Williams , Calvin H. "Ripple" Williams; step-mother, Muriel D. Williams; step-sister, Gwendolyn M. Thomas; step-brothers, E.V. Myers, Sonny Myers; aunt, Mother Maggie Floyd Williams. She leaves to celebrate her life and legacy: her sons, Elder Ronald A. Williams, Elder Robert L. (Vanessa) Williams, both of Palatka, Tommy L. (Lisa) Youman, Jacksonville; daughters, Pamela M. Youman, Manhasset, NY; Lorraine M. (Tony) Brown, New Rochelle, NY; stepdaughter, Wanda Denise Youman, Melrose; brother, Jimmy C. (Dorothy) Williams, San Diego, CA; stepbrother, Reverend Marcelle (Joyce) Myers, St. Marys, GA; 16 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and a host of other relatives, friends, and her Pentecostal Church family. Visitation of family and friends will be 5-8 p.m., Friday, July 24 at "Flagg's Chapel of Serenity." Homegoing celebration will be 3 p.m., Saturday, July 25 at Pentecostal Church of God In Christ, 624 North 9th Street, Palatka, FL. Superintendent Johnny Shaw, Pastor, is the eulogist. Interment will be in Resthaven Memorial Cemetery, San Mateo. The cortege will assemble at the church's fellowship hall facility at 2:30 p.m. Saturday.
