Rosa Lee Brown Wright, 77, of Palatka, entered the sunset of life comfortably in her recliner on Monday, July 15, 2013 at her residence. A native and lifelong resident of Palatka, she was born on Thursday, February 20, 1936 to George and Estella Johnson Brown. Rosa resided on the "Heights" for many years and was in the class of 1954, Central Academy High School. She was a member of Mt. Tabor First Baptist Church, where she faithfully served as a senior usher and was active in the Senior's Ministry. "Aunt Rosa Lee" really enjoyed shopping, cookouts, solving crossword puzzles, and sitting on the porch chatting with her friends and neighbors. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in eternal rest by her son, Larry Joseph Brown; sisters, Beatrice Grooms-Chester and Laura Brown; brothers, Charlie, Jack, Curtis, and James "Jimmy" Brown, Sr. Those who cherish her memories: devoted niece, Angelia H. (Craig) Smith, Jacksonville; granddaughter, Crystal Brown, Long Beach, CA., and a host of nieces and nephews, including Marilyn Brown-Knowles, Beverly Brown-Simmons, James Brown, Jr, Michael Brown, Dexter Brown, Rosemary Brown-Hanna, Thomas Brown, Tammy Brown-Davis, Val Dora Washington, Deborah Carter, Charlie Brown, Jr, Lila Brown, Sylvester Brown, Nicholas Chester, Evelyn Johnson, Charlie Lumpkin, Rosemarie Francois, cousins, neighbors in the Annie M. Spell Senior Community, usher colleagues and other caring friends. Visitation of family and friends will be 5-8 p.m. Friday, July 19th at "Flagg's Chapel of Serenity." The Homegoing Celebration will be 11 a.m. Saturday, July 20 at Mt. Tabor First Baptist Church, 4909 St. Johns Avenue, Palatka. Reverend Karl N. Flagg, Pastor, is the eulogist. Interment will be in Oak Hill West Cemetery. The Cortege will assemble at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Mt. Tabor.
