Rosa Lee Parker Brown was born Tuesday, January 23, 1945 in Brunswick, Georgia to Malachi & Emma Marie (Hunter) Brown. At the early age of 2, her family relocated to Palatka, Florida. She was educated in the Putnam County School District (Central Academy High School of 1962). She was a faithful member of the Mt. Tabor First Baptist Church and formerly Bethlehem Freewill Baptist Church. She served faithfully on the Food Service Ministry, Pastors Resource Ministry, Drama Ministry and served as a Missionary. Rosa Lee loved the Lord and dedicated her life to helping the needy, feeding the hungry, praying for the sick and phoning those who were discouraged. She was also a playwright who facilitated numerous church plays. On February 13, 1988, she united in Holy Matrimony to Sammie Lee Brown and kept her vows to the Lord until she was called home to eternal rest. In 1989, she retired from her Putnam County School District custodial duties, following 10 fulltime years at Beasley Middle School).
Rosa Lee was preceded in eternal rest by her parents; sister, Orlando Reeves and brother, James Turley Brown; and brother in law, Thomas Link. Although she endured hardness as a good soldier during an extended illness, she remained faithful to the service of the Lord. Mother Brown heard the welcoming voice of Jesus beckoning her to come home and rest from her labors on Friday, July 23, 2010 at Shands & UF, Jacksonville, Florida.

Johns) , Palatka; Brother, Emmitt (Elizabeth) Brown, Orlando; Sister, Gloria Link, Palatka; two nieces that she raised as her own daughters, Carolyn B. Pinkney and Edna (Clarence) Givens, both of Palatka; Grandchildren, Tyree Parker, Tyronda Parker, Tynesha Parker, Tekela Battles, all of Palatka; James Battles, Gainesville; Great Grandsons, Colvin Johnson, Palatka; Arsmer Leonard, Gainesville; Sister-in-law, Ida Brown, Brunswick, GA; God brother, Tyrone (Ingrid) Williams, Palatka; Godson, Willard Gene (Annette) Smith, San Mateo; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and caring friends
Visitation of family and friends will be from 12 noon - 5 p.m. on Saturday, July 31, at the Chapel of Serenity. Homegoing Celebration will be 3 p.m. Sunday, August 1 at Mt. Tabor First Baptist Church, 4909 St. Johns Avenue, Palatka, Reverend Karl N. Flagg, Pastor, is the Eulogist. The cortege will assemble at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the Browns residence 1105 North 17th Street, Palatka. Interment will be in Resthaven Cemetery, San Mateo.
