Obituary

Roosevelt Lawrence "Junior" Dingle, Jr., 58, of Palatka, entered the sunset of life on Thursday morning, May 13, 2021 at Haven Hospice Roberts Care Center, Palatka. A native of Meriden, CT., he was the son of Roosevelt Lawrence Dingle, Sr. and Dorothy Lamar Dingle, born on Sunday, December 30, 1962. He was educated in the New Haven County Connecticut School System and was a 1978 graduate of Wilbur Cross High School. Upon graduating, he began to pursue his dreams of becoming an entrepreneur.  "Junior" was multi-talented and was well respected as a "Jack of all trades."  Roosevelt could always be found coaching his son's little league teams or fishing at one of the local fishing holes. He was a true fisherman and usually found plenty of time to enjoy his favorite pastime. Although he had numerous passions, he was a strong family man and his first love was his family.  Roosevelt enjoyed home cooked meals prepared by his wife and sisters and fishing trips with his sons, brothers and nephews.  He loved dancing and listening to loud music with his nieces and grandchildren.  In 2010, Roosevelt married the former Jamie Luysterborghs and they became the proud parents of their son, Romel.  He was also the father of Antuan White, Ashley Dingle, Shayla White and Roosevelt Dingle III.  He accepted Christ as his personal Savior.  In 2019, after much thought and consideration, the Dingles' relocated to Palatka FL, until he was called into eternal rest.  In addition to his parents, his sister, Bernetta Lamar preceded him in eternal rest.

He leaves to cherish his memories: loving and caring wife, Jamie L. Dingle; sons, Antuan White, Roosevelt Dingle, III, Romel Dingle; daughters , Ashley Dingle, Shayla White; sisters, Colleena Hicks, Tonda Dingle, Phoenix Rumley; brothers, Mitchell Dingle, Kevin Dingle; grandchildren, Zenia Maebry, Noah Texira,  Kaylani Cayo; paternal grandmother, Irene Lamar; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

CDC guidelines will be followed for the visitation of family and friends from 12-2 p.m., Tuesday, May 18 and the Homegoing Celebration commencing at 2 p.m., at Flagg's Chapel of Serenity, 2400 Madison St., Palatka. Prophet Rasheem Dingle, of Salvation and Deliverance Church, New Haven, CT., is the Eulogist. Interment will be in Oak Hill West Cemetery, 712 S. Palm Avenue, Palatka.
