Ronnie Linair Lewis, 45, of Interlachen, formerly of Palatka, entered the sunset of life on Tuesday, January 20, 2009 at Putnam Community Medical Center. A lifelong Putnam County resident, he was the son of Mr. & Mrs. John (Hester Estella Sanders) Lewis, Jr., born September 20, 1963. Ronnie was educated in the Putnam County School District (Palatka High School). He was a member of Abilene Missionary Baptist Church, Putnam Hall, where he was baptized and sang in the Male Chorus. He was a construction laborer specializing in stucco. Ronnie was preceded in eternal rest by his parents, Mr. & Mrs. John Lewis, Jr., brother, John Lewis III; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Mr. & Mrs. Richard (Alice Hayes) Eubanks. To cherish his memories: Loving and Devoted Wife, Sheila Eubanks Lewis, Interlachen; daughter, Lakisha Lewis, Palatka; Sons, Ronnie John Lewis and Davonta Flowers, both of Interlachen; Grandson, Jaquez Poole, Palatka; Sisters, Gloria Jean Lewis, Palatka, Vera Lewis-Reaves, Hollister; Veda Holmes, Palatka; Sandra Philemond, East Palatka; Sister-in- law, Linda M. Eubanks, Montgomery, AL; Brothers-in-law, David Eubanks, Tifton, GA and Ricky Eubanks, Lakeland, FL., and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends. Visitation of friends and family will be Friday, 5-8 p.m. at The Chapel of Serenity and Saturday from 12-2 at the church. Homegoing Celebration will be 2 p.m. Saturday, January 31st, at Abilene Missionary Baptist Church, 187 Putnam Loop Road, Putnam Hall. The Reverend James F. Pullings, Sr., Pastor is the eulogist. Interment will be in Sister Springs Cemetery, Interlachen. The cortege will assemble at the Lewis residence, 1011-B Old Gainesville Hwy, Interlachen on Saturday at 1:15 p.m. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the Ronnie Lewis Burial Fund c/o Flagg Serenity Memorial Chapel.
